Our family farm

Bode’s Moonlight Gardens is co-owned and operated by Beany Bode and Joanne Roepke Bode with help from our family, friends, neighbors, and an occasional hired hand.

We appreciate the many people who have been with us as we have built our garden business over the past 20+ years and the many loyal customers who continue to support us.

Our vision for the farm is to create an environment that nurtures growth of both food and family, while providing meaningful work. We aim to provide delicious, healthy food for ourselves and others to enjoy, preserve the soil and our rural environment and participate in educational opportunities that promote local agriculture.

Beany and Joanne were both born and raised in Iowa. After seizing the opportunity to live, work and travel within and outside of the United States, we chose to return to rural Iowa in 2003 to raise our family and begin work on our farm. We have been here ever since!
